PINHOLE COLLECTIVE MEMORY
pinhole: collective memory 165
Collective Memory is a series of multi-exposure pinhole photographs that collapse the library archive's physical and temporal space into unified visual fields. By layering hundreds of views of book spines, magazine racks, and grid-aligned shelves onto a single sheet of film, each image transforms organized knowledge into a ghostly, hyper-dense matrix of texture and line. Individual authors, specific titles, and disparate subjects dissolve into an ambient hum of overlapping text—a visual manifestation of how human thought piles up, cross-pollinates, and settles into our shared cultural consciousness. Through the slow, lensless gaze of the pinhole camera, these everyday repositories of information cease to be mere furniture and instead become monumental monuments to our shared intellectual history, capturing not just the books themselves, but the heavy, cumulative weight of everything we have chosen to remember.
